Motoring offence fees
We offer a fixed fee service for the following minor road traffic offences, on the basis of a guilty plea:
- Drink driving
- Speeding
- Drive without due care and attention
- Use of a mobile phone
- Other minor road traffic offences.
All of the above are charged at a fixed fee of £400.00 (+vat). There may be additional charges for travel and parking costs.
The fixed fee includes:
- 2 hours attendance and preparation
- taking your instructions and providing advice
- attendance and representation at a single hearing at the Magistrates Court.
The key stages of your matter are based on the presumption that you will enter a guilty plea, have a date for your hearing and will include the following:
- An initial meeting where we will provide you with advice about the offence charged, consider the initial disclosure of the case and any other evidence.
- We will explain the court procedure to you so you know what to expect on the day of your hearing and the sentencing options available to the court.
- We will conduct any further preparatory work, obtain further instructions from you if necessary and answer any follow up queries you may have.
- We will attend the Magistrates Court on the day and meet with you before going before the court. We cannot provide a timescale of when your hearing will take place, as this depends on the court listing for that day.
- After the hearing we will discuss the outcome with you.
The fee does not include:
- Instruction of any expert witnesses
- Taking statements from any witnesses
- Advice and assistance in relation to a special reasons hearing
- Advice or assistance in relation to any appeal.
If any of the above are required, there will be additional charges which we will agree with you when it becomes apparent that this is needed.
